'Start-up International': Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs launches new funding program

With the 'Start-up International' funding program, the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs supports startups in developing new foreign markets with a total of 2.1 million euros.

Startups that want to enter new markets should be supported in the development and implementation of a Internationalization strategy The aim of the 'Start-up International' project is to strengthen the competitiveness of young companies by establishing a market presence abroad. Minister of Economic Affairs Hubert Aiwanger says:

"Digital and scalable business models know no boundaries. We want to build on this great potential and therefore support startups in entering new foreign markets. In doing so, we promote the growth and consolidation of companies. This pays off – because every Bavarian company abroad is also an ambassador for our economy."

'Start-up International' supports expansion into two new countries

Funded companies receive up to €23,000 per target country over a period of 12 months. 50 percent of the funding is provided for consulting and coaching services, marketing and advertising measures, and trade fair participation, among other things. A maximum of two new target countries can be developed. Startups that are no older than eight years are eligible for funding.
