Online: INNOVATION EXPERTS PANEL – Vehicle to Grid

As part of our inno4X VIRTUAL SERIES we invite you – together with Open District Hub eV – to

INNOVATION EXPERTS PANEL – VEHICLE TO GRID
Impact of bidirectional charging on existing business models in the energy, automotive and housing sectors

With bidirectional charging technologies, electric cars can not only charge but also supply electricity. This turns cars into energy storage devices. Large numbers of cars and large fleets of electric vehicles will then become very important, flexible energy storage devices for the electricity market.

Smaller solutions are referred to as 'vehicle to home,' 'vehicle to building,' or 'vehicle to device.' Electric cars store electricity from photovoltaic systems and feed it into the grid of the house, building, or specific systems when needed.

"Vehicle to Grid" is a much larger solution. It allows all electric vehicles available in a larger region that are connected to a charging station to be combined into a massive electricity storage facility.

With direct access to their vehicles and the batteries installed in them, vehicle manufacturers are becoming new stakeholders in the energy market. Many unanswered questions arise.

Our speakers will cover these important topics:

  • What is already technically possible today, and can cars replace home storage in the future? (Audi)
  • Vehicle-to-Building as a use case for the housing industry – relevance, potential, and added value for tenants? (Vonovia)
  • Disruption through Vehicle to Grid – Optimizing markets through targeted feed-in (EnBW and Octopus Energy)
