Planerio becomes part of the Doctari Group

The Munich-based startup Planerio digitizes employee management processes in the healthcare sector. It has now been acquired by the Berlin-based healthcare service provider Doctari Group.

The Roster software Planerio, according to its own information, is used in approximately 600 practices, clinics, and care facilities in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The acquisition by the Doctari Group is intended to make it easier for the Munich-based company to respond more effectively to shift scheduling challenges in the future.

"Good scheduling is always employee satisfaction planning and always has a direct impact on the motivation of professionals. However, the healthcare sector presents several challenges, such as variable shift patterns, employees with different qualifications, and a variety of employee needs. Planerio's AI-supported algorithm takes all of these factors into account in automated scheduling."

so Wieland Sommer, radiologist and founder of Planerio.

Planerio: “Strengthening the healthcare system with innovative solutions”

In addition, the acquisition will enable Planerio to grow technologically and organizationally, as co-founder and managing director Stefan Klußman explained:

"The sale gives Planerio the opportunity to further expand its technological lead in shift scheduling and workforce management. Together with the Doctari Group, Planerio will continue to work on strengthening the healthcare system with innovative solutions and accelerating digital transformation in healthcare."

The startup's solution originated in Wieland Sommer's unsuccessful search for suitable software. He subsequently created a tool that saved him time in personnel planning, and from which his colleagues at his former institution quickly benefited. In 2016, he founded the company Planerio together with neurobiologist and former McKinsey consultant Stefan Klußmann and medtech specialist Robert Grüter. The startup thus has a similar founding story to Smart Reporting, which the radiologist Sommer also founded out of a direct professional need.

Founded in 2008, the Doctari Group operates a career and placement platform of the same name for medical professionals and institutions. The two companies did not disclose the purchase price.
