SCE Startup Certificate enters its 10th round

Are you ready to finally put your startup idea into action and are looking for practical and academic support? The "Founding Your Own Startup" incubation program offered by Munich University of Applied Sciences and the Strascheg Center for Entrepreneurship (SCE) will teach you everything you need to know. The application deadline is July 12, 2021.

The 24-week program from Munich University of Applied Sciences and SCE helps founders turn their business idea into reality, including an official certificate. It combines startup support and entrepreneurship training in one program. The SCE Startup Certificate offers, among other things, individual consulting, a workplace in an incubator, and network access to other successful founders, entrepreneurs, investors, and experts. Further support includes €2,000 in funding for prototype construction and assistance with applying for public funding. Participants also receive student status for the duration of the program.

The goal of the funding program is to provide founders with the necessary know-how and a solid foundation through support and knowledge transfer. This should encourage the creation of more technology-based startups that will survive in the market for the long term.

Who can apply for the SCE Startup Certificate?

Participation is not limited to students of Munich University of Applied Sciences. However, a university entrance qualification (e.g., a diploma, bachelor's degree, master's degree, high school diploma, vocational baccalaureate, master craftsman's examination, or similar) and the presence of an initial business idea are required. The funding program has no industry focus: product or service, high or low tech, social impact or commercially driven, software or hardware—any business idea can be submitted. It also doesn't matter whether participants are still studying or already employed. International teams are equally welcome. The decisive factors are the degree of novelty, scalability, and potential of the idea, the founding team, and their motivation and personal commitment.

The Application Applications for the SCE Startup Certificate are open until July 12, 2021. A presentation or idea paper must be submitted by email. Selected startup projects will then be invited to an admissions presentation, which will take place at the end of July and beginning of August. Applicants should receive their final acceptance by August 20. The program then begins on October 1, 2021. Upon successful completion, participants will receive their certificate.
