Future Agro Challenge is looking for Startup of the Year

Attention agribusiness and foodtech startups: As part of the Global Agripreneur Summit, the Future Agro Challenge (FAC) will award the title of "Agribusiness of the Year." You can apply for the German preliminary round until July 31.

The goal of the Future Agro Challenge is to revolutionize the food and agricultural supply chain from farm to fork by innovators and promote the establishment and development of innovative companies. To this end, the global competition focuses on agripreneurs, i.e., startups with a unique agricultural entrepreneurial spirit. These entrepreneurs are then expected to help, among other things, optimize agricultural productivity by implementing more efficient solutions or improve the ecological footprint of agriculture through greater resource efficiency.

The FAC accepts business ideas from the following subject areas:

  • Food technology
  • Agtech
  • Agroforestry and livestock farming
  • Product / Retail
  • Food security and sustainability
  • Food waste
  • Nutrition and health
  • Safety and health
  • Packaging and logistics
  • agricultural training
  • Agro-tourism
  • Agricultural production & processing

Preliminary round of the Future Agro Challenge

For the German preliminary round on September 8, the Andreas Hermes Academy, with the support of the Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank, is looking for teams with innovative ideas and scalable business models. Applications are still possible until July 31Startups should be no older than five years, have an MVP (Minimum Viable Product), have identified market needs, and be able to address them. Furthermore, their product or solution should contribute to one of the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals.

The team that prevails in the preliminary round of the pitch in front of the jury and audience will then be invited to present at the Global Agripreneur Summit 2022 in Greece. The final for the title of "Agripreneur of the Year" will take place there. The winners of the competition will receive a package of services worth up to €50,000 and access to networks.
