Intime Express Logistik joins Libcycle

The mobility revolution is imminent – but how can the recycling cycle of an energy storage system work in practice? This question is not only occupying the Munich-based startup Libcycle, but also the logistics service provider Intime Express Logistik, which has now joined the Munich-based startup as a strategic partner.

The two founders of Libcycle, Philipp Brunotte and Áron Németh, have developed a logistics cycle designed to simplify the recycling of old or defective energy sources. Libcycle Managing Director Philipp Brunotte explained:

"The heart of the transports in this context is a box we have developed. With it, we can transport almost all common battery types safely and quickly."

Strategic partner brings logistical expertise

For the logistical expertise and the network to potential users, the startup has now partnered with Intime Express Logistics from Isernhagen, which holds a majority stake in Libcycle. Gerd Röttger, Managing Director of Intime, says:

"The young people's concept convinced us. Their idea fits very well with our experience in agile logistics for the automotive industry. Especially in the area of hazardous goods transport, we can work together to expand our offerings to customers."

Concentration on core business

Intime already handles the transport of batteries in accordance with hazardous goods regulations. Combined with Libcycle's ideas, the logistics service provider aims to offer comprehensive, end-to-end solutions in the future.

"Industrial users will no longer have to worry about transportation in the future, but can concentrate on their core business. This includes further developing innovative battery technologies and thus their vehicles,"

Brunotte explains one advantage of the concept. To this end, he and Németh have begun developing an IT-supported platform that will provide electric vehicle manufacturers and users with traceability of the status and location of batteries and simplify the entire battery recycling supply chain.

“From the provision of the transport box to logistics and the automatic determination of the destination, we want to offer everything from a single source,”

says Brunotte.

Save money with a new solution

And Röttger from Intime adds:

"This view of the entire supply chain is crucial. Only then can we become a key factor in our customers' success. Our solution saves them money."
