Data is the linchpin in the transformation process to digital medicine. It is intended to help diagnose diseases better in the future and provide patients with more personalized, effective, and less adverse treatment. The visions are ambitious. But the current pandemic, not least of all, is once again demonstrating how essential networked structures are for the generation, exchange, and use of data in health research.
