Parkdepot and its 53 employees are working on a digital solution that enables the operation of parking spaces without barriers, floor sensors, and on-site personnel. The camera-based system of the Startups scans cars entering and exiting parking spaces. This allows parking spaces to be booked and paid for entirely digitally. The Munich-based company's customers include parking owners, real estate companies, restaurants, and retailers. McDonald's already uses the technology to manage the parking spaces of one in eight of its stores. Jakob Bodenmüller, co-founder and managing director of Parkdepot, says:
"At Parkdepot, we started with a few people in my own apartment. Today, we are a team of 53 people, representing 11 different nationalities, and are present in all parts of Germany. By doubling our workforce, we plan to develop a variety of new solutions for our customers, bringing innovation to the long-standing parking market."
Parkdepot: “The founding team impressed us with its operational excellence”
Mick Mackaay from investor Henq says:
"The founding team impressed us with their operational excellence and consistent improvements in all areas, from the strong growth in the number of parking spaces at Rewe, Edeka, and McDonald's to the reduction of the average installation time from one week to just a few hours. They achieved all of this very quickly and efficiently, and with very little funding raised so far."
