Already from Thursday Flixbus is once again serving around 40 destinations in Germany. Tickets can already be booked. The company is once again implementing a hygiene concept with disinfection and cleaning of all vehicles before each trip, disinfectant, and contactless check-in. A display on the website and app allows travelers to see the expected capacity of their desired trip during the booking process. For trips with particularly high demand, the Munich-based company plans to deploy additional buses to ease travel flows.
Air filters should ensure greater safety
In addition, Flixbus is implementing a new filter system in many buses in cooperation with Daimler Buses. This system is designed to filter out up to 99 percent of aerosols and provide additional protection with an antiviral coating. Gustav Tuschen, Head of Development at Daimler Buses, says:
“The study by the TU Berlin has shown that the use of active filters with antiviral coating can make bus travel even safer.”
The Flixtrain train service is also scheduled to be reactivated soon. Bookings for trips starting June 24 are already available.
