SkyFive AG
Entry last updated on 1 March 2021

SkyFive connects aircraft, helicopters, and drones. Our solution consists of a 4G/5G mobile network with skyward-facing antennas and the corresponding receiver unit on the aircraft. Our patented software algorithms enable mobile communications at very high speeds and over very long distances. Due to huge radio cells, only a few ground stations are needed to cover the airspace of entire countries. Our solution is already in use across Europe as part of the European Aviation Network.

As a service provider, we provide airlines and other fleet operators with a broadband and robust data connection that improves the performance and cost of traditional satellite connections by a factor of 100. This enables numerous new services for the cockpit and cabin, from simple internet access for passengers in the cabin to complex IoT applications, such as live analysis of engine data and the digitalization of numerous processes between aircraft and the ground. We will also provide future air taxis with real-time communication services.
