Online: Industry tutorial “How do startups tick?”

According to a 2020 Bitcom study, two-thirds of established companies have not yet collaborated with startups, and a full 22% even see young companies as a threat to their own market position. Is this reluctance justified? Or is the rejection perhaps based on a lack of knowledge about the people behind a startup.

The BayStartUP industry tutorials are specifically aimed at medium-sized, SMEs and industrial companies that are interested in collaborating with startups – be it in sales, as a technology collaboration or in another form.

In this current issue, we provide insights into the world of young entrepreneurs: Who are the typical founders behind startups, what drives them, and what makes them successful? How are startups actually financed, and what influence does this have on their goals? How do startups "function" before structures and processes are established? And last but not least: Can established companies perhaps even adopt some of the startup mindset?

These key topics await you:

  • What are the characteristics of (successful) startup founders?
  • How do entrepreneurial decisions arise in startups?
  • Forms of financing for startups and their influence on their objectives.
  • Startup culture, startup methods and communication channels in startups.
  • Current: How are startups reacting to the Corona crisis?
  • What startups want from established companies.
  • What an established company can learn from startups.
