As part of the “Women Business Angels Year 2020/21”, BAND is organizing an awareness workshop for MORE women with financial power and know-how who invest in innovative startups.
In the exciting market for startup financing through business angels, female angels represent a complete minority. According to estimates by the Business Angels Network Germany (BAND), only about 7% of the business angels investing in young startups in Germany are female. BAND wants to change this and has launched the "Women Business Angels Year 2020/21" with Federal Minister of Economics Peter Altmaier as patron. The vision: to increase the proportion of female business angels to 25% by 2025.
In her keynote speech “Angel Investor post COVID 19”, Dr. Mariana Bozesan, Europe's Female Angel Investor of the Year 2019 and international Club of Rome member, reports how her everyday life has changed due to the pandemic and what angel investors can do to sustainably stimulate the economy.
Enthusiastic and inspiring female angel investors will be available to answer questions, courageous female founders will present their exciting business ideas, partners, promoters and participants of the “Women Business Angels Year” will discuss what can be done to motivate more women to become active as business angels, and BAND will call on everyone who is committed to greater gender diversity in the angel and startup ecosystem to get involved.
