The MGI project is an accelerator for innovation and entrepreneurship based on the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The accelerator aims to support impact-oriented entrepreneurship and promote collaborative development and elaboration within the Munich ecosystem.
Exist is a government funding program of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) for universities and their startup networks. The supported universities and colleges are designed to develop a publicly visible and dynamic startup culture, promote the ideas of young talent, and foster stronger exchange between science, business, and industry. Exist Potentials focuses on the three key areas of "unlocking potential," "regional networking," and "international impact." The "Munich Global Impact" project aims to achieve international impact.
Social impact and responsible entrepreneurship
Munich University of Applied Sciences, Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich, and Technical University of Munich (TUM) jointly applied for this funding by establishing a program designed to attract national and international talent, technology-based projects, and young startups. The project shares a focus and connection to social impact and responsible entrepreneurship. MUC Summit acts as an ecosystem integrator within the project, anchoring the innovations and activities in the Munich ecosystem and facilitating exchange with network partners.
The award will enable MUC Summit to build an online and offline community and support the project in establishing itself within the Munich network. To this end, MUC Summit plans to secure further partnerships within the ecosystem, develop a digital platform to support the project, and implement a communications strategy.
