What is Rent a Startup all about?
The digitalization of all value chains is progressing: "Software eats every industry." This transformation has been in full swing in retail and media/advertising for over 15 years, the energy industry has been at it for ten years, the banking industry for about five years, and industry is just getting started with "Industry 4.0." But how do you align a company with entirely new products, markets, and business models without jeopardizing its established core business?
Established companies are faced with a paradoxical tension: they must operate their traditional business model efficiently while simultaneously countering the cross-industry attacks of startups in the digital era with radical innovations.
The Munich Network member Zühlke Engineering GmbH has “Rent a Startup” A solution is developed that implements innovation outside the organization, but with the domain knowledge of the established company. This project model allows companies to leverage the innovative power and effectiveness of their own startup without overburdening their own organization.
About the speaker: Dr. Moritz Gomm As Business Development Manager at Zühlke Engineering, he is responsible for business development in the areas of Internet of Things and Industry 4.0, particularly for mechanical engineering and medical and laboratory equipment manufacturers. He advises companies on generating innovations, developing new business models, and implementing them using new technologies in mechanics, electronics, and software.
What is WakeUp!?
WakeUp! is a networking event at Munich Network. Each WakeUp! focuses on a specific topic. A topic expert gives a 20-minute presentation and shares their personal experiences with the participants. All participants introduce themselves and also have the opportunity to share their own experiences, ideas, and perspectives on the day's topic with the other participants.
