Kardex acquires stake in Rocket Solution

Rocket Solution from Unterhaching develops standardized automated storage and retrieval systems of the latest generation. Swiss warehouse technology company Kardex has now acquired a stake in the startup.

Rocket Solutions, founded in 2019, has dynamic warehouse vehiclesRocket Shuttles, so-called Rocket Shuttles, have been developed. These move within the shelves and deliver the containers and trays to be stored to the respective system interfaces. The technology features open IoT and web interfaces, making it easy to integrate into overall systems. The first live system is scheduled to be implemented this year. In addition to its headquarters in Unterhaching, Rocket Solution operates two additional development centers in Forchheim and Wächtersbach near Frankfurt am Main.

Kardex CEO Jens Fankhänel emphasizes:

"With the Rocket Solution technology, Kardex is taking a further step toward standardized subsystems and expanding its portfolio in the strategically important light goods sector. Through the investment in this young, innovative company, we also expect new impetus for Kardex, especially for the implementation of our IoT strategy."

Kardex is a globally operating industrial partner for Intralogistics solutions and a Swiss-based provider of automated storage solutions and material flow systems. The group consists of two divisions, Kardex Remstar and Kardex Mlog. Kardex Remstar develops, manufactures, and maintains dynamic storage and retrieval systems. Kardex Mlog integrates material flow systems and automated high-bay warehouses.

The investment in Rocket Solution is not the first time that Kardex has invested in a Startup In May of this year, the Swiss company acquired shares in the Dutch startup Robomotive, which specializes in the development of robots that can grasp objects without lengthy training processes. Further details about both investments are unknown.
