Startup Academy supports founding teams

The management consultancy EY is currently seeking startups for its fourth Startup Academy. Mentoring, funding, and contacts are on offer. Applications are open until August 31.

The Startup Academy is looking for innovative fintech and technology startups in their early and growth phases. The project is supported by, among others, the German Startups Association, Deutsche Börse Venture Network, Deutsche Bahn Digital Ventures and the High-Tech Founders Fund supports. Christopher Schmitz, Partner at EY and Head of the Startup Academy says:

"We are targeting founders who have already demonstrated a viable concept and are aiming for a financing round within the next year. Especially in light of the coronavirus crisis, which is further complicating access to financing for newly founded startups, this type of engagement is all the more important for the startup ecosystem and new business models."

Startup Academy offers mentoring, contacts and cash prizes

A shortlist of applications will be made at the beginning of September. The nominated founders will participate in a pitch contest on September 15. The finalists will complete the program from September 30 to November 12. They will be assigned a mentor, gain access to the industry network, and meet potential financing partners. On November 12, the most convincing founding team will receive the "Academy Award." The three top-ranking startups will receive a cash prize.
