Without research and innovation, Germany's role as a leading economic nation would not be possible. Therefore, German R&I policy is called upon to act: both in promoting technologies and in aligning the research system with global competition.
The Expert Commission for Research and Innovation (EFI) is an important guide for the German government. Since 2006, the six-member expert group has been analyzing innovation activity and technological performance in Germany and advising the government on key areas of action.
