The WERK1 startup center houses an incubator, two coworking spaces, a café, and an accelerator in the InsurTech and HealthTech sectors. With approximately 50 offices currently available, it supports over 40 early-stage digital startups as well as numerous freelancers and entrepreneurs in its coworking spaces. WERK1 offers the necessary infrastructure, a comprehensive network, and an inspiring startup atmosphere under one roof. This is complemented by coaching and consulting services, workshops, lectures, events, and conferences, as well as a mentoring and alumni network to support founders in their early years.
WERK1 is the hotspot for digital startups in Munich. The non-profit startup center offers an active community for founders, flexible offices for digital startups, numerous events, and the startup café as well as coworking areas for all digital entrepreneurs. The WERK1 was one of the first projects of the newly formed “Werksviertel”. The large area directly at Munich's “Ostbahnhof” station is one of the most exciting urban development projects in Germany. Since its opening in 2013, WERK1 has become the ecosystem for creative minds, developers and young entrepreneurs. WERK1 is funded by the Ministry of Economics and part of the Gründerland Bayern Initiative.
