The Referat für Arbeit und Wirtschaft honors academic theses with a Munich connection with the City of Munich University Prize. Applications can be submitted until March 15.
The aim of the University Prize is to promote outstanding academic research findings in city administration, society, and business, and to strengthen Munich as a center of knowledge. The prize is awarded by the city, with the Referat für Arbeit und Wirtschaft leading the way.
The university prize is endowed with a total of 15,000 euros
The awards will recognize one thesis each from the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, the Technical University of Munich, and the Munich University of Applied Sciences. The three prizes are each endowed with 5,000 euros.
The prerequisite for an application is that the final theses deal with the city of Munich, in particular with questions of its urban planning, economic or cultural development.
A jury will assess the submitted works. The jury will be chaired by Deputy Mayor Manuel Pretzl. The jury will also include the presidents of the three universities or their representatives, one professor each, City Planning Commissioner Elisabeth Merk, and Cultural Affairs Officer Hans-Georg Küppers.
Applications for the next university award can be submitted until March 15, 2019.
