After the surprising Cancellation of Cebit The German Startups Association (Bundesverband Deutsche Startups eV) has announced a digital community festival for next year and launched the initiative digitalgermany.org. The premiere date has now been set: The first German Digital Day will take place on June 24, 2019.
The startup association already says it has a large number of supporters from business, politics, and civil society on board. All of these stakeholders will come together on June 24, 2019, for the first German Digital Day.
“We need to better educate people about the potential of digitalization”
Philipp Rösler, former Federal Minister of Economics and Technology and Vice Chancellor, is one of the first supporters of Digital Day:
"Digitalization makes road traffic safer, prolongs life, and combats climate change. We need to better educate people about these and many other potentials so that everyone knows their personal benefits."
Meanwhile, the Digitalgermany initiative is being formed on digitalgermany.org and will host the German Digital Day on June 24, 2019. Florian Nöll, Chairman of the Startup Association, says:
"Just a few days ago, we announced our intention to host the first Digital Day in June with the Digital Germany initiative. (...) We are delighted with the large turnout and even more excited to open the first German Digital Day with all these stakeholders on June 24, 2019."
