Science Slammers present current scientific research in a compact and entertaining way. Zentrum Digitalisierung.Bayern (ZD.B) is hosting a science slam competition on November 21st on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence – Understanding Tomorrow's Technologies Today." Students, doctoral candidates, researchers, and scientists researching artificial intelligence or machine learning can apply for a presentation until October 19th.
On 21 November 2018, students and scientists from Bavaria will present their work at the Munich Einstein Culture present their research. Whether computer science, mathematics, mechanical engineering, automotive engineering, robotics, sociology, or philosophy—possible questions include: What potential does AI offer? To what extent does AI already benefit us humans in our everyday lives and at work? What are the limitations and possibilities, and what are the prospects?
Science slammers win prize money and reach the finals
Participants will first learn everything they need to know for their presentations in front of an audience in a free workshop with experienced presentation coaches and a high-profile jury of representatives from industry and research institutions. The best participants have the chance to win a cash prize of €500. In addition, the expert jury will select participants from the slammers for the final pitch. This will take place on December 3rd as part of the Digital Summit of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy in Nuremberg.
