Start-up competition – Digital Innovations enters second round

The Digital Innovations Startup Competition, announced by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy, is entering its second round in 2018. This time, a special prize will be awarded for the topic of artificial intelligence. Applications are only possible until October 1.

Twice a year, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy awards prizes for fresh start-up ideas. At the beginning of September, Five Munich start-up teams in the first round of the start-up competition secured awards this year: Orbem, RoVi, Twaice and WunderX each received a main prize worth 32,000 euros, while ChargeX was honored with the special “Smart Living” prize.

In the second round, up to six main prizes of €32,000 in seed capital for a company start-up are also up for grabs. Up to fifteen additional ideas will receive €7,000. Perhaps even more valuable than the cash prizes is another benefit for participants: All applicants for the startup competition receive individual feedback on their submissions.

Special Prize for Artificial Intelligence

Additionally, the organizers are awarding a special prize on the topic of "Artificial Intelligence." The startup competition states:

"Market researchers expect that artificial intelligence will be a component of many products and services for private and commercial customers in the future and will contribute significantly to their competitiveness. These are good times for startups that develop AI technologies or use them in their products and services."

The special prize for “Artificial Intelligence” is endowed with 10,000 euros.

Applications are still possible online until October 1st.
