All startup companies from the construction, energy, services, IT, and IoT sectors are eligible to participate in the Klimahouse Startup Award 2019, provided they focus on sustainable and energy-efficient construction. Applications must be submitted via the online form by 6:00 PM on November 5, 2018.
A startup is defined as any company founded in 2014 or later and based in the European Union whose core business is strongly characterized by innovative elements. By November 19, 2018, a panel of experts will select the 32 startups that will be invited to present their services and products from January 23 to 26 at Klimahouse in Bolzano in the Startup Village of the exhibition center. Various pitch sessions are planned each day, during which the participating startups can present themselves to the Klimahouse audience.
Premiere for Audience Award
During the first three days of the fair, the expert jury will select the 10 startups that will compete for first prize in the final round at the NOI Techpark. The finalists will be evaluated by the jury during an elevator pitch followed by a Q&A session. This year, for the first time, the public will also participate in the voting. Visitors and exhibitors can award a symbolic "Audience Choice Award" by voting for their favorite on the cards provided during the first three days of the fair.
Klimahouse Startup Award: 30,000 euros in prize money and more
The total prize money for the competition in the form of services is €30,000. The winner will receive a fully equipped exhibition stand with services and hospitality at Klimahouse 2020, promotional communication in the catalog and on the event's official website, 150 free tickets to the fair, and a marketing package with a press release and video interview for Klimahouse 2020. Also included in the prize is participation in ComoCasaClima from November 15 to 17, 2019, in Erba (CO).
