Visit of Angela Merkel: “UnternehmerTUM exemplary in Germany”

Chancellor Dr. Angela Merkel visited on 4 September UnternehmerTUMIn a dialogue, the Chancellor, Susanne Klatten, shareholder and chairwoman of the supervisory board of UnternehmerTUM GmbH, and Dr. Helmut Schönenberger, UnternehmerTUM founder and managing director, together with representatives of startups and experts, discussed the opportunities for Germany as a location for startups.

The dialogue focused on measures to strengthen Germany's innovative capacity. With her visit, the Chancellor underscored — Among other things, she spoke with the Munich high-tech startup Magazino — and in their remarks the great importance of start-ups for Germany as a business location.

“A breeding ground for startups”

The Chancellor said literally: “The UnternehmerTUM offers a place of innovation, interaction between the Technical University of Munich, the professorships, and traditional commercial enterprises. It is a breeding ground in the truest sense of the word for innovative startups; here, young entrepreneurs find inspiration and production opportunities. Concentrated here is the entire knowledge of an outstanding university, the entire knowledge of a traditional industrial location like Munich, and the innovative power of young entrepreneurs who drive ideas forward in order to develop new products for the global market in a targeted and planned manner. Here at UnternehmerTUM, everything has grown from practical experience. The network here in Munich, a startup hub, is exemplary for other locations in Germany.
