Munich startups win at the “Start-up Competition – ICT Innovative”

At the Internationale Funkausstellung (IFA) in Berlin in early September, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy honored exemplary founders in the information and communications technology (ICT) sector in the "Start-up Competition - ICT Innovative." Two of the five main prizes, each worth €30,000, went to Munich-based startups. In addition, three other Munich-based startup teams received recognition awards.

The founders of GraphHopper have created software for developers. This allows route planning to be adapted to the individual requirements of different customers and integrated into applications in the areas of mobility, logistics, and leisure. For example, for biking or horseback riding, or for transport companies planning routes for their trucks.

  • evalu.run is developing a mobile running trainer. Supported by force sensors, it aims to improve movement patterns and individual training intensity.
  • With ParkHere and its sensor system for optimized parking space utilization, we will hopefully be able to find a parking space quickly – and efficiently – in the future, instead of having to drive around for a long time.
  •  QMedify supports doctors with online software in creating medical reports.

97 percent of the startups in the startup competition remain active in the market after their first few years of business. To further support the startup potential of the German ICT sector, there will likely be another competition next year: the program will be relaunched under the name "Digital Technologies Startup Competition."
