Last year, Stefan Raab and now Jan Böhmermann — the organizers of Bits & Pretzels seem to have a soft spot for German television. The satirist and Grimme Award winner has now been confirmed as another keynote speaker for the 2018 Founders Festival.
Next to Tarana Burke and Nico Rosberg—who, after his career as a racing driver, is now also an investor—will also be joined on stage by TV presenter Jan Böhmermann at this year's Bits & Pretzels. Böhmermann will deliver a keynote speech on the Center Stage on the first evening of the Munich Founders Festival and will then be available for a Q&A session.
Jan Böhmermann's media career began in radio in the late 1990s. This was followed by a variety of successful formats, including TV shows, live programs, podcasts, talk shows, late-night shows, several music titles, a book publication, and much more. His list of awards ranges from the German Television Award to the Romy and the Grimme Prize.
Why Böhmermann as keynote speaker?
The organizers of Bits & Pretzels explain their choice as follows:
"Jan Böhmermann doesn't shy away from taking risks and doesn't shy away from crazy ideas. When he sets his mind to something, he sees it through, even if the consequences weren't always foreseeable. This courage and willingness to take risks make him an inspiring role model for young founders and entrepreneurs. Böhmermann is a motivating example of how creativity, tenacity, and determination can lead to progress and international recognition."
To Bits & Pretzels
This year's three-day founder festival will take place from September 30 to October 2. 5,000 founders, investors, startups, and other decision-makers are expected. The first two days will take place at the Munich Trade Fair Center. The third day of Bits & Pretzels will then be moved to the Munich Oktoberfest as usual.
