About the MCBW
Munich and Bavaria, as a center of creative industries, represent an outstanding entrepreneurial connection between design and business. Organized annually by bayern design in the first quarter, the MUNICH CREATIVE BUSINESS WEEK (MCBW) is Germany's largest design event, demonstrating this potential: Around 200 dedicated program partners create a platform for design-savvy companies, designers, and design agencies from all disciplines, as well as members of the public interested in design. Under the guiding principle of "Design transforms," over 65,000 participants will find substantial knowledge transfer and inspiring design experiences in the two program areas: CREATE BUSINESS! for trade visitors and DESIGN SCHAU! for the design-savvy public.
CREATE BUSINESS! – MCBW's dialogue and networking platform for professionals
Design, as a catalyst for innovation, represents an active, creative, and humane approach to shaping change. In this spirit, the MCBW presents big ideas, sustainable trends, and new products at conferences, symposia, workshops, receptions, and many other events with the MCBW DESIGN DIALOGUES. It promotes the establishment of business contacts as well as in-depth knowledge transfer and lively discussions – between business and the design industry on the one hand, and between the various creative disciplines on the other.
MCBW START UP creates a platform for networking between investors and young entrepreneurs: Workshops, coaching sessions, lectures, and personal discussions are offered. The highlight of MCBW START UP is the Creative Demo Night, in which founders are exposed to critical outside scrutiny, including expert contacts.
DESIGN SHOW! – MCBW's showcase for the design-interested public
Nine days of experiencing, trying out, and understanding design in all its facets up close. Exhibitions, vernissages, events, and activities at over 100 locations in Munich and Bavaria will immerse you in Bavarian and international design culture: The DESIGN SCHAU! showcases Munich as the vibrant German capital of design.
Part of the DESIGN SCHAU! is the MCBW FORUM on Museum Island: The central meeting point of the MUNICH CREATIVE BUSINESS WEEK, with its exhibition and lectures, offers deep insights into the design industry and promotes critical dialogue. It is a meeting place for design enthusiasts and a center for exchange for the professional audience.
