OurParkingPlace.de has won the first phase of the European funding competition with its truck parking reservation system Horizon 2020 successfully passed. Among several thousand medium-sized applicants, the startup was one of only 15 companies in Germany to receive funding.
Horizon 2020 is a European Union funding program launched in 2014. Its goal is to promote research and innovation until 2020. UnserParkplatz.de is currently conducting a feasibility study, the results of which will serve as a guide for the European expansion of the reservation system.
Parking space sharing aims to reduce search traffic
The EMBAAlumna Denise Schuster founded UnserParkplatz.de in August 2013. The online platform offers reservations for private, commercial, and airport parking spaces. Its focus is on temporarily unused parking spaces, which customers can book in advance. With this service, the startup aims to significantly reduce parking search traffic in city centers through private parking space sharing.
