StartUp Talk Munich with ugly fruits

If you take a look at the vegetable shelves in supermarkets, you'll always see the same picture: absolutely flawless and visually identical fruit and vegetables. One apple is exactly like another, cucumbers and carrots are perfectly straight, and heaven forbid a potato is even a few millimeters too small or too large. That's what the EU wants, and that's what the retail trade wants.

The startup ugly fruits However, we are convinced that consumers are unhappy with this monotony on the produce aisle and the resulting exorbitant food waste. Ugly fruits is the alternative. The startup sells high-quality, 'crooked' fruit and vegetables, tons of which are currently left lying in the fields.

At the “StartUp Talk Munich,” startups present their innovative ideas. The startups were selected by SCE start-up support at the Munich University of Applied Sciences.
