Pitch competition: Munich municipal utilities seek blockchain solutions

Munich's municipal utilities (SWM) are seeking new technological inspiration. The focus is on blockchain. Apply now and pitch your idea at the SWM Innovation Day on November 29, 2017.

Digitalization, sustainability—for example, in energy supply—and mobility are core issues in the city of the future and bring with them new challenges. Munich's municipal utilities and its subsidiaries are working on solutions that will be effective today and in the future.

Addressing future issues with the help of startups

In particular, SWM is dedicated to finding solutions for issues such as:

  • climate-friendly supply
  • Security of supply
  • Digitalization
  • Health
  • Metropolitanization

As part of the pitch competition, SWM is interested in ideas and approaches for applications of Blockchain technology.

Pitch at Innovation Day — Registration until November 22

On the Innovation Day on November 29th Startups have the opportunity to present their ideas/solutions in a pitch session. They also engage in dialogue with the municipal utility's technical experts.

In order to pursue the ideas and solutions of interest to SWM together with the selected startups, Stadtwerke München aims to implement pilot projects and use blockchain technology in specific test fields at SWM.
