Social Hackathon #5

40 people, 10 teams, 1 day – learn programming and do something good at the same time! That's the goal of the COOK and CODE SOCIAL Hackathon on September 16th at the Glockenbachwerkstatt community center!

What is a hackathon? Don't worry, we're not trying to steal your bank details! A hackathon is essentially a marathon for programmers who enjoy exploring new technologies, meeting new people, and having fun!

For our SOCIAL Hackathon #5 we are still looking for projects that we can support:
Are you a non-profit organization or social project that needs help with a new website or other digital support? We'd love to hear from you! Just send us an email (news@cookandcode.org) with the following information:

What does the project/association do in 2 sentences?
What problem do you have?
How do you envision the solution within the framework of the hackathon?
Optional: What are the technology requirements?
We will get back to you afterwards.

About the event:

Three to four social projects that have a specific digital problem and need help present themselves. Participants then choose a social project they would like to support at the hackathon.

More specifically: For example, an association would like to offer a protected area for its members so that not all information is always made public. The hackathon participants are trying to find a solution for this. Let your imagination run wild! Use the internet as a playground for your ideas. Together as a team, you will implement solutions using APIs, frameworks, and the like. Learn programming in a fun way and meet new people. Let's go – code it yourself!

What makes our social hackathon so special?

The Social Hackathon isn't about your team winning a prize; rather, we want to help the projects with our knowledge. This automatically creates a special atmosphere, especially for beginners, as all participants support one another.
