The first batch of UnternehmerTUM's new technology incubator XPRENEURS launched at the beginning of May. For three months, 21 teams will advance their business ideas in the areas of Smart City, Mobility, Industry 4.0, B2B Software & Hardware, and Medical Technology to market readiness with the support of UnternehmerTUM experts.
Up to 15,000 euros in start-up capital, your own office space, access to the high-tech MakerSpace workshop, and intensive 1:1 coaching – XPRENEURS offers excellent conditions for a successful start-up.
Support in the earliest phase of the start-up
The goal of XPRENEURS: to turn promising technology startups into sustainable and scalable companies.
"From a large number of applications, we selected the 21 best teams. Three aspects were particularly important to us: a clear high-tech focus, an extremely strong team, and a scalable business model."
so Dr. Martin Heibel, Managing Director of XPRENEURS.
With a clear focus on the early start-up phase, XPRENEURS complements the overall strategy of UnternehmerTUM Through the entrepreneurial qualification programs, the Accelerator TechFounders and the funds of Unternehmertum Venture Capital Partners, UnternehmerTUM offers an all-round service from the initial idea to the IPO.
XPRENEURS: 21 high-tech solutions
The 21 teams in the first batch of XPRENEURS are developing high-tech solutions for current technological and societal challenges. KEWAZO, for example, aims to make scaffolding safer, more efficient, and more cost-effective with a robotic solution. The software from CAALA calculates the ecological footprint of building designs within seconds. The rfrnz team uses an AI tool to accelerate and improve lawyers' contract analysis.
1:1 coaching by experts and founders
During the three-month intensive program, the teams work in their own offices in the Highlight Towers and at the Entrepreneurship Center in Garching. With up to €15,000 in financial support, access to potential customers, and the UnternehmerTUM network of companies, experts, talents, and investors, they develop their business model to market readiness. The program does not follow a fixed curriculum, but rather tailors the support specifically to the specific needs of the startups.
XPRENEURS provides each team with its own experienced coach: founders from Germany's and Europe's most successful technology startups as well as experts from industry giants such as BMW, SAP and Infineon work with the teams in intensive 1:1 coaching sessions to develop the respective business model and market entry strategy.
Strong cooperation partners
The Bavarian State Ministry for Economic Affairs and Media, Energy and Technology and the Heinz Nixdorf Foundation are providing financial support for the program. The IBM Watson IoT Center provides teams with access to the latest technologies and developments in the IoT field. XPRENEURS also maintains close collaboration with the Technical University of Munich.
