The workshop “Technology Seeks Application” supports you in finding answers to these questions with a systematic, scientifically sound approach.
Facts
As a participant, you will bring a specific technology with you so you can directly apply the methodology taught. The output of the workshop will be an overview and description of all identified application areas for the technology, as well as an initial assessment of its commercial attractiveness.

- Concrete analysis of your technology from the user perspective
- Method set for finding new application areas for technologies
- Concrete identification and evaluation of as many creative (alternative) application areas as possible for your technology
- Assessment of the commercial attractiveness of the new application areas
- Presentation and preparation of the results
Construction
The two workshop days will take place in Munich. There will be two telephone coaching sessions between the sessions. During these sessions, the interim results of your research and the next steps will be discussed. You can receive support from students at WU Vienna. They have already gained experience with the methodology and have directly applied it to a project.
The workshop is highly interactive and requires a certain amount of commitment between the workshop days. We welcome participants who bring self-interest, motivation, and energy and who want to actively drive projects forward.
Cost
Participation in the above-mentioned workshop program will incur costs of €900 per project and team for student support and workshop implementation. These costs can be billed through the training budget if approved by the manager.
