INVEST: Funding program supplemented with exit grant

Exit grant for the Invest program: The Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy supports startup investments with its INVEST funding program. Since January 1, the funding conditions have been further improved.

Since May 2013, the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi) has been supporting investments by business angels in young, innovative companies: the ministry reimburses 20% of the invested capital tax-free. The aim of the program is, on the one hand, to support young, innovative companies in acquiring capital and, on the other hand, to motivate private investors to invest more capital.

Since the beginning of the year, natural persons can also receive an exit grant. The investor receives a flat-rate tax compensation of EUR 251,000,000 of the profit realized from the sale of their shares supported by the acquisition grant. The exit grant is limited to EUR 801,000,000 of the investment amount. INVEST shares limited.

In addition, the upper limit for eligible investment amounts will be doubled to €500,000. Investors can now receive up to €100,000 in acquisition grants per year.
