Mobile apps have long been an integral part of our private lives, and they're also becoming increasingly prevalent in the workplace: 75 percent of German companies now use mobile enterprise apps, according to the recent "Adobe Enterprise Mobile Apps Survey." Reason enough to give the developers and creators behind these applications a platform with the 7th Show your App Award and to highlight the most compelling offerings.
At the Show Your App Award, a jury of media and industry experts, as well as consumers, will decide on the best apps in a three-week voting marathon. The winners will be announced on February 15, 2017 The announcement was made at a celebratory evening event in Munich. The established LOCA Conference and App Days events, which will take place on February 15 and 16, 2017, in Munich, will provide the appropriate professional framework.
Functionality, design and price-performance ratio are crucial
The submission works quickly and easily online. Any existing app can participate, regardless of manufacturer or operating system. A jury of experts, consisting of journalists and technology professionals, carefully examines the submitted apps and evaluates them based on innovation, usefulness, design, and functionality. The value for money of the applications also plays a role. In addition to the three main winners, they also select individual winners in the app categories Mobility & Travel, Life & Style, Games & Entertainment, Media & Education, and Business & Finance. The Health & Fitness category has been added to the award, placing greater emphasis on health applications.
Voting runs online from 12 January to 5 February 2017In the user vote, each user can rate each app once from one to five stars. Consumers award their prize independently of the jury's rating. The winners await Media budget of 10,000 eurosAt the last awards ceremony, 85 apps were submitted for review by an expert jury and the public. 117,400 people participated in the voting.
App Days and LOCA Conference on 15 and 16 February 2017
The awards ceremony will take place during App Days and the LOCA Conference. App Days (www.app-days.com) brings together app developers and companies looking for developers or wanting to improve their apps. The LOCA Conference – Location Technology, Marketing and Services – will take place for the third time in 2017. Under the motto "Connecting real and online worlds in retail and logistics," it will focus on solutions for e-commerce and location-based services. Both events will take place concurrently on February 15 and 16, 2017, at BMW Welt in Munich.
