The Munich-based sports startup FITrate is taking new steps: With a six-figure investment behind it, FITrate now wants to expand its community features and its concept into other major German cities.
FITrate has long since established itself in the Munich startup scene. Since 2015, the sports startup has offered a single map of more than 35 different sports and wellness options in the region. The focus is primarily on local, owner-operated studios and sports, but skiing, golf, EMS training, and massages are also offered.
A team that loves its work
The founding team has now gained a well-known investor in Dr. Michael Hoeck. In addition to the business angel from Proyecta Ventures, who has already successfully invested in startups such as unu or Catchys, a group of investors joins the Munich startup, providing it with a sum in the high six-figure range. Hoeck:
"From the very beginning, I was enthusiastic about the idea and the implementation at FITrate. The team fits together perfectly. It was crucial for me that the team behind the startup loves their work. That's why it was ultimately an easy decision to become part of this story."
Big tasks – big goals
With this funding, FITrate will further develop its concept as an aggregator of sports and wellness offerings and, above all, will expand its community features. The young company will also expand into other major cities. Furthermore, its already extensive sports offering will be further expanded. FITrate's goal is Founder Vahid Imani clearly in sight:
"We want to enable even more people to experience FITrate for themselves and become part of our community. Our members can already look forward to new features, sports, and cities. And all this at a very fair and transparent price, without unnecessary contract terms or hidden costs."
There are also some personnel changes. In addition to several new faces, Florian Schärer will join the management team effective November 1. Schärer:
"I've absolutely identified with FITrate's innovative concept from the very beginning. As part of the team, I will do my part to revolutionize the sports and wellness market. We fulfill our members' individual wishes every day, and it's simply a lot of fun."
