Female entrepreneurs who have carried out an EU-funded research or innovation project can apply for the EU Innovation Prize for Women Apply. There are large cash prizes.
The European Union will award three innovative female entrepreneurs with prizes of €100,000, €50,000, and €30,000, respectively. A special prize of €20,000 is reserved for applicants under the age of 35. Women of any nationality who live in an EU member state or in a country participating in the EU's Horizon 2020 research program are eligible to participate.
EU Innovation Prize recognizes “outstanding achievements in various fields”
EU Research Commissioner Carlos Moedas says:
"With the EU Women's Innovation Award, we honor just a few of the many remarkable women who have contributed to the knowledge-based economy in Europe. Previous winners have achieved outstanding achievements in fields as diverse as immunology, telecommunications, and software development. We hope this award will support the winners in their future innovation efforts and encourage other women to follow in the footsteps of these exceptional entrepreneurs."
Last year, a total of 64 female entrepreneurs applied. Most submissions came from the life sciences and information technology sectors.
