Innovative startups from the ICT sector can apply for the “Start-up Competition – Digital Innovations” of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy until Friday, 30 September 2016.
“Start-up Competition – Digital Innovations” for the best ICT ideas
The main prizes are €32,000 each, with additional cash prizes of €7,000 each. The winners can also look forward to coaching and networking opportunities, as well as two special prizes of €10,000 each in the areas of "Digital Education" and "Big Data."
Your chance for feedback
The competition is divided into two phases: After submitting the idea sketch in Phase 1, all participants, without exception, receive an analysis of their concept with regard to strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT analysis).
Up to 50 founders will be able to revise and improve their concept in Phase 2. The winners will be notified in early December. All participants in the second phase of the competition will receive further feedback. A jury will then select the winners.
This year's special prizes: Digital Education and Big Data
In the first round of the competition, two additional special prizes of 10,000 euros each will be awarded. Special Prize “Digital Education” is aimed at startups and young companies with ideas in the field of educational technologies. We are looking for ideas that utilize digital technologies in innovative ways for education. Whether these are concepts for preschool, school, university, or vocational training and continuing education.
The second Special price of the “Start-up Competition – Digital Innovations” goes to the best start-up concept “Big Data”We are looking for the most promising idea around the challenges of the “three Vs”:
- volume: The data volumes are very large,
- variety: they come from very different sources and
- velocity: they must be processed very quickly.
