The Garching Research Campus, one of the largest centers for research and teaching in Germany, invites you to the Open House 34 research institutes and facilities provide insights into the world of science. Visitors can not only explore state-of-the-art research facilities and listen to exciting lectures, but they can even become researchers themselves through hands-on experiments.
Meet the UnternehmerTUM and its high-tech workshop MakerSpace Get to know and experience entrepreneurship interactively! At various stations, you'll be introduced to the process of founding a company. You'll also be challenged to take part in a prototype development challenge.
Station 1 (lifting area)
Start with a rapid prototyping workshop in the hub area. Here, you'll find a wide variety of materials to unleash your creativity. For example, create your own personal "lightning device" using LEDs. You'll notice how your ideas become more tangible as you build and interact with others. Trainers and experts will support you.
Station 2 (Project Room)
In the project room, you'll have the chance to examine your ideas in more detail with experts. The goal is to then develop a business idea. Here, you'll be introduced to the different approaches and programs of the UnternehmerTUM. Afterwards, you'll submit your prototypes, including your business idea, and participate in the Prototype Challenge competition.
Station 3 (MakerSpace)
Would you like to explore the entire workshop and get a brief introduction to laser cutting technology? Join the MakerSpace tour and be inspired for further projects. Each tour lasts a maximum of 45 minutes and begins every 20 minutes at the MakerSpace front desk (on the hour, 20 minutes past, and 20 minutes before).
