The VivatechOne of Europe's largest startup and technology events, has published the second edition of its "Top 100 Rising European Startups" ranking, highlighting Europe's most dynamic tech companies. The 100 selected startups come from twelve countries. With 23 companies represented, Germany, along with the UK and France, is among the leading startup nations.
The ranking reveals one key point: Europe's tech ecosystem is becoming increasingly specialized and focusing on clear priorities. Sectors such as specialized AI, fintech, cybersecurity, healthtech, legaltech, and marketplace and e-commerce models are particularly well represented. At the same time, issues like technological sovereignty and industrial competitiveness are gaining in importance.
François Bitouzet, Managing Director of Vivatech, explains:
“This year, the theme of technological sovereignty runs like a common thread through the top 100 and is particularly evident in the areas of cybersecurity and defense technology. The rise of Mistral AI in competition with the American giants is one of the most visible examples of this. This development reflects a strategic turning point at which Europe is investing heavily to achieve leadership positions and sovereignty in key technologies.”
Munich's diversity from AI to space travel
The Munich startup scene also showcases its full range in the ranking. In the area of "AI Productivity and Automation," [company name] is developing... Lio Software for agentic AI in corporate procurement. The platform automates processes such as comparing offers or analyzing suppliers.
