Smart Inventory
Entry last updated on September 11, 2025

Craft businesses and workshops lose time and money every day because their inventory isn't properly documented. Employees have to maintain inventories manually, which is error-prone, laborious, and rarely possible in a consistent manner. The result: search times, bottlenecks, and tied-up capital.

With Smartventory, we take over this task: Our AI warehouse assistant Lino documents all goods movements on the fly – directly on the shelf, without barcodes and without rigid ERP systems.

This gives companies full transparency over their inventory at all times, saves costs, avoids bottlenecks – and relieves their employees of the tedious documentation work.

Let's talk about how we can give your company full warehouse transparency within just a few months with Smartventory.

Business model

Founder Jannis Böning studied mechanical engineering and robotics (at Technion and KIT) and gained experience at the robotics startup RobCo and the AI startup Interloom. During the construction and installation of robotics solutions at customers, he recognized the challenges of warehousing, especially in less structured workshop environments. Through his research with intelligent planning algorithms and his in-depth insight into modern AI language models and agentic systems at Interloom, it became clear that these models are ideally suited for physical warehouse management. With Smartventory, he pursues the mission of replacing manual inventory documentation with AI – to give companies full transparency over their warehouses and relieve employees of tedious administrative work.
