Unio Enterprise and OIQ Global merge

The Munich-based startup Unio Enterprise is being acquired by OIQ Global. Together, the companies aim to provide mobile devices worldwide with uninterrupted connectivity.

The Munich-based newspace startup, founded in 2022 Unio Enterprise develops connectivity software that automatically provides mobile devices with the best available connection. The technology controls the switching between terrestrial mobile networks and satellite communications. The goal is to ensure stable data transmission even in regions without reliable network coverage.

Unio's business model is aimed at industries where end-to-end communication is essential. These include the automotive industry with applications in autonomous driving, logistics with global tracking of goods and vehicles, and agriculture, where networked machines must operate even outside of urban infrastructure. Shipping and aviation also benefit from stable connectivity during operations.

With the takeover by OIQ Global (OIQ) Unio's software will be integrated into a more comprehensive infrastructure. OIQ's vision is to seamlessly connect satellite and mobile networks, thus establishing a globally available data supply for fixed and mobile systems. Together, both companies aim to serve millions of mobile systems worldwide.

Applications in mobility and industry

Katrin Bacic, CEO of Unio Enterprise says:

"Joining OIQ Global marks a turning point for Unio. With our connectivity expertise and OIQ's constellation vision, we will redefine the connectivity of mobility assets. This partnership enables us to accelerate our roadmap and deliver the next generation of intelligent connectivity via terrestrial and satellite networks for industries such as automotive, agriculture, logistics, and shipping."

Joseph J. Euteneuer, CEO of OIQ Global, adds:

"We are delighted to welcome Unio Enterprise to the OIQ Global family. Their AI-powered smart switch connectivity technology is the perfect complement to our vision of global, anytime, anywhere connectivity. Together, we will create seamless, multi-band mobility connectivity that sets new standards worldwide in efficiency, security, and operational insights."

The companies also emphasize the importance for Europe: Autonomous driving, intelligent logistics, and predictive maintenance increasingly depend on stable data connections. With the combined expertise of Unio and OIQ, Europe aims to play a stronger role in global telematics innovation and advance a sovereign digital infrastructure.

The plans will be presented at the IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich from September 8 to 12. Katrin Bacic, Frederic Baker (CTO of Unio), Joseph J. Euteneuer (CEO of OIQ Global), and John Archer (COO of OIQ Global) will be available to answer questions from interested parties between September 8 and 10.
