The Media Scale-up Fellowship of the Media Lab Bayern is entering a new round: It supports media startups that are already generating revenue and have acquired their first customers, providing access to customized growth strategies, intensive coaching, and a valuable network within the industry. The target group are media startups based in Bavaria, founded as a corporation, and less than four years old. Only teams that have already generated their first revenue are eligible to participate.
Selection process in several stages
Applications are open until October 7, 2025. Applicants will then attend individual sessions with coaches to review their business models and financial plans. A pitch will be presented to a jury of media experts on November 14, 2025, who will determine the final selection.
Media Scale-up Fellowship program launches in December
For the selected startups, the program begins on December 1, 2025, and then runs for nine months.
In addition to financial support, the initial phase includes an intensive 1:1 coaching phase. During this phase, the team members develop a customized growth strategy together with each startup. This is followed by workshops on topics such as financial planning, growth marketing, sales, investor readiness, partnerships, and leadership.
The Media Lab Bayern It also supports startups through targeted contacts with relevant companies and participation in conferences and industry events. Startups also benefit from the Media Lab's active founder community and valuable connections to investors and venture capitalists.
This means that the startups selected by the jury not only receive capital but also receive structured support in their further development.
