Nomadic Drones secures pre-seed financing

Munich-based startup Nomadic Drones has secured €1.4 million ($1.6 million) in a pre-seed funding round led by Outlander VC and Asia2G Capital. The company plans to use the fresh capital to accelerate its product development and launch initial pilot projects.

Nomadic Drones aims to fundamentally change the inspection of power grids. The core of the business model is autonomous drones that can recharge themselves during deployment. Instead of regularly returning to a base, the drones land directly on power lines and use their magnetic field to recharge their batteries. This technological innovation is intended to enable significantly more efficient and continuous monitoring of energy infrastructures. Company announcement is it [called:

"Our journey began with a bold idea: to revolutionize power grid inspections with self-charging autonomous drones. We set out to build drones that could do more than just fly: they land on power lines and recharge themselves using the magnetic field generated by the infrastructure they were inspecting. This groundbreaking concept not only captured our imagination but also convinced investors who shared our vision of safer and more efficient energy systems."

The company's concept is aimed primarily at energy suppliers who need to monitor their networks reliably and safely. By eliminating costly and dangerous manual inspections, operating costs are reduced while simultaneously increasing safety.

Pilot projects and next steps

The €1.4 million ($1.6 million) funding marks an important milestone for the startup. The team plans to use the funds to accelerate the development of the prototype and implement initial pilot projects with major utility companies to demonstrate the technology's potential under real-world conditions.

Nomadic Drones emphasizes that the development process has not been without challenges. Numerous prototype iterations, late nights, and periods of uncertainty have characterized the team's journey so far. Nevertheless, the dedication of everyone involved led to a solution that has won over investors such as Outlander VC and Asia2G Capital.

With this fresh capital, Nomadic Drones is focusing on growth, technological development, and scaling in a market that is looking for solutions for a safe, efficient, and sustainable energy supply.
