Democracy and participation. We would like to dedicate this evening to this exciting topic – in keeping with the upcoming elections in February 2025.
How do we inform ourselves about current political issues? What opportunities for participation are available to us as citizens in a democracy? And how can we engage in political discussions in our everyday lives and promote democratic exchange?
This evening, our inspiring speakers will demonstrate how citizens can actively shape democracy—be it through political education, innovative initiatives, or direct participation. With exciting insights and concrete approaches, you'll learn how democracy can be experienced in everyday life and how you can make a contribution yourself.
We have some very exciting personalities as keynote speakers:
Prof. Dipl.-Des. (FH) Christian Schmachtenberg from the University of Kaiserslautern.
He and his students are exploring new ways to combine virtual elements with real-life experiences. He will tell us about his new format "Reload Democracy," which is "all about fun, freedom, and your voice."
The Munich-based association 10drei eV is taking a different approach. Their goal is to strengthen the education of basic democratic values among students. Johanna Kobilke will report on how they do this and how you might be able to support them.
If you're wondering how you can engage in political discourse with others without joining a party, then look forward to meeting Anika Frölian and her startup Pollect. She's participating in our current SCE Incubation Program.
