Coastal Biotech bridges biochemistry and life sciences by integrating biological principles with technological advances and materials derived from marine organisms and resources. Our bio-based technology utilizes marine organisms such as algae and bacteria as a source of enzymes, biomaterials, bio-based chemical feedstocks, and other biologically active, high-value molecules, enabling applications toward a green transition in current areas of product development where ingredient bases are focused on perpetual or unsustainable chemicals or dependencies on fossil fuel-based ingredients.
Currently, our green transition from chemicals and fossil fuels is located at the grassroots of food consumption – in agriculture, where the production of biostimulants offers alternative pathways and addresses some of the pressing environmental challenges facing our society: climate mitigation and adaptation, and the transition to a more circular, resilient economy and green industry.
Our concept, centered on a production model, envisions the production of bio-based products as an opportunity for strategic autonomy and resilience near our sites by reducing dependence, including import dependence, on fossil resources such as petroleum, chemical ingredients such as fertilizers, cosmetics, paints, lubricants and adhesives, and many other application areas.
Coastal Biotech merges bio-chemistry and life sciences by integrating biological principles to technological advances and materials derived from marine organisms and resources. Our bio-based technology leverages marine organisms such as algae, and bacteria as a source for enzymes, bio-materials, bio-based chemical commodities and other biologically active high-value molecules, that allows for applications towards green-transitions in current areas of product development where ingredient bases are centered around forever or unsustainable chemicals or dependencies on fossil fuel based ingredients. Currently our chemicals and fossil fuels green transition is at the base of food consumption- Agriculture where the production of biostimulants offer alternative pathways and address some of the pressing ecological challenges of our society; climate mitigation and adaptation, and transitioning to a more circular, resilient economy and green industry. Our concept that is aligned to a manufacturing model, places both the production of Bio-based products as an opportunity for strategic autonomy and resilience in proximity to where we operate by reducing dependency, including import dependency, on fossil-based resources like crude oil, chemical based ingredients such as fertilizers, cosmetics, paints, lubricants and adhesives and many more application areas.
