Specifically, Hitachi Construction Machinery is seeking solutions in three areas: The transformation of construction planning focuses on optimizing costs, time, and CO2 emissions, as well as the use of connected machines. This area also includes implementing matchmaking solutions and monitoring and updating results. The "Revolutionizing Equipment" segment focuses on innovative interfaces for operating equipment and adaptive solutions for autonomous operation. The third area focuses on transforming fleet management. The primary goal here is to minimize machine downtime and optimize and monitor its use.
Startups from the construction industry The challenge not only offers participants the opportunity to present their ideas directly to decision-makers and network with partners from the Hitachi Construction Machinery network. They also have the opportunity to leverage the company's knowledge, data, and sales structures to develop a paid pilot project. Participants can also look forward to expert mentoring.
Application for the Hitachi Construction Machinery Challenge
Apply Any startup with a test-ready solution at Technology Readiness Level (TLR) 7 or higher can apply. The startups can come from anywhere in the world, but they must also be able to potentially operate and scale their solution. In addition to a match with Hitachi Construction Machinery's strategy, the jury will consider the maturity of the solution, as well as previous customers, projects, and use cases. The experience of the founding team will also be evaluated.
The application deadline is September 27. Selected startups will then be invited to a pitch in Atlanta in November. There, they will present themselves and their solution to a panel of Hitachi Construction Machinery executives and partners. Successful startups will then have the opportunity to test a paid prototype and, if successful, scale it with the company.
