Roundpeg develops add-on systems for environment recognition for collaborative robots (COBOTs). Their technology enables interaction between robots and humans that would be impossible or only possible to a very limited extent without environment recognition. In the future, robots without environment recognition will no longer be an option. Roundpeg is the first supplier worldwide to already market such systems.

Roundpeg's vision is for robots to become a fundamental part of our society. However, interaction between humans and robots is rare today. Therefore, robots cannot make a significant contribution to sustainably relieving people of strenuous tasks. This must change in the future, and Roundpeg will be a driver of this development.

Roundpeg develops AI-based, cognitive robots to revolutionize the manufacturing industry. With a unique, integrated human recognition system, our robots operate 10x faster than today's systems, simplifying the production of existing and new products.

Today there is a core problem in production that massively hinders the development of new products.
There are essentially only two options for planning a production system: high automation or manual assembly.

High-level automation (1) carries enormous investment risk, as the return on investment is heavily dependent on future sales forecasts—which are becoming more difficult to predict by the day. Therefore, manual assembly (2) remains a common approach—even for large companies. But it is expensive (in terms of manufacturing costs), doesn't scale, and labor is hard to find.
To truly scale manual production, collaborative robots (COBOTs) could offer a significant advantage. They can be set up without fences and are easy to integrate. But they move extremely slowly to avoid injury.
Therefore, Roundpeg has developed a robot that can recognize people in its environment. This makes it possible to integrate it directly into assembly lines – without a cage and at high cycle times.
