Flixtrain: More stops than ever before

Flixtrain continues to expand its route network to become the largest Flixtrain network of all time.

Even more routes for Flixtrain: The long-distance train provider is now gradually expanding its offerings – and plans to achieve around 40 percent more capacity this summer than in 2023. The company is also increasing frequencies: Flixtrain trains will now run up to six times a day on the Berlin-Cologne route (previously: four times), and up to eight times a day on the Berlin-Frankfurt route (previously: six times). After a construction-related break, the FLX11 line will also return, connecting Berlin to Rhineland-Palatinate and now once again connecting Mainz and Wolfsburg.

More than 150 stops throughout Germany

The overall network also continues to grow: In addition to 50 Flixtrain stops, over 100 additional stops can be booked via flixtrain.de and the app through a cooperation with the German Tariff Association (DTV). This brings the total offering to more than 150 stops across Germany. According to Flix, this is its largest network ever. Flix CEO and co-founder André Schwämmlein says:

"With Flixtrain, we want to sustainably change the mobility landscape in Germany. We see enormous demand for an alternative rail service, and with our expansion of our service, we are responding to the already great success we are enjoying with Flixtrain."

Seat at no extra charge

Flixtrain offers all passengers a seat included in their ticket at no extra charge, so no one has to stand in the aisle during the journey. Furthermore, travel times are comparable to ICE trains: From Berlin to Stuttgart, it takes around six hours, from Berlin to Hamburg in around two hours, and from Hamburg to Cologne in about four hours.

"In recent years, we have succeeded in gradually reducing our travel times. Our long-distance travel times can now compete with all our competitors,"

Schwämmlein continued.
