The SIA implements an annual program in approximately 20 countries on three continents, consisting of low-threshold and interactive educational and incubation formats. Young social enterprises are supported in their initial steps with expertise, mentoring, and access to networks, among other things. The most promising companies from the three-month incubation phase also receive pre-seed financing and access to important networks.
Who can apply?
The SIA aims to help young social entrepreneurs Therefore, there are a few criteria to consider when applying:
- All core team members must be between 14 and 30 years old.
- Ideas in the early implementation phase can only be submitted if the project was founded after January 1 of the previous year.
- Submitted projects must not have received any significant formal seed funding at the time of application. This is defined as formal grants from external sources exceeding €6,000 (e.g., angel investment, grants, prize money, etc.).
- Ideas submitted in previous years, with the exception of previous finalists or winning projects, may be resubmitted. Individuals/teams may apply with new ideas, even if they were selected as finalists or winners in previous years.
Applications can be submitted until May 13. A jury will then review the submitted applications and announce the selected teams that will participate in the incubation program on June 4.
By the way: Even those who are not accepted into the program will receive feedback from the jury to help them revise and further develop their idea.
